Building your business should be a fun and exciting time. We understand that for those that are new to the internet business world it can also bring on some unwanted stress. We have put together this short step by step guide to help take some of the "unknown" away from beginning your business, so that you can enjoy your new venture.
Domain Name
- We are going to assume you have an idea of what you are wanting to name your business. However you will need to make sure you can purchase the domain to go along with it. You must have a domain in order to have a website. You must think hard and long as once you pick your name and domain its not simple to change.
- You will need to research and be sure the domain is available. You can do this either at your hosting providers site ( if they provide domain services) or we recommend godaddy.com. Keep in mind... we are only recommending you purchase your domain from Godaddy.com as we do not supply designs for their hosting packages.
Web Hosting
- Your web hosting is very important as you can consider this your business "housing" it will hold all your products and information for your customers. When choosing a host please be sure to research carefully and be sure that they will provide you the support you will need. Check and ask for references if need be. Any host that is not willing to prove to you they will do a good job for you is a host you do not want
- Keep in mind that we personally only work with certain hosting providers. If you are planning on using a design from us you must choose a hosting provider that is on our providers page.
- Once you sign up with a host be sure to save all emails you receive from them. As they will contain many of your passwords that you will need to pass on to us in order to install your design.
- At this point if you have purchased your domain from go daddy or a different domain provider other than the hosting provider, you will need to change your DNS over to your nameservers. Your new host should be more than happy to assist you with this step should you need it.
Design Setup
- If you are purchasing a custom design we are always happy to provide you with a custom quote tailored to your needs. Feel free to contact us at anytime.
- If you are wanting a premade design then you will need to purchase your choice of design from our site. Please keep in mind our premade designs are as-is. If you are wanting any types of changes, please email us with your requests first to see if we are able to accommodate your needs.
- Once your design is purchased we will send you a short questionnaire asking about your hosting, domain, and business. You can find all password and usernames requested in the emails you received from the host.
- We ask you allow us 7-10 business days to have your design installed on your site. The time needed is usually much shorter, but we would rather be on the safe side.
Site Set Up
- You are now ready to begin setting your site up for selling on the internet. You can add your categories, products, images etc.
- Your hosting provider should provide you with any help you need with this process. Be sure to ask for help when you need it..thats what they are there for :)
